Credit monitoring is an important aspect of knowing what your scores are and how to protect yourself. Here are some options for you to choose from.
Annual credit report.com-this is the only official credit report that you have. Currently, because of Covid 19 and the CARES Act, you can check your credit report once per week. Typically, and prior to Covid 19, the FAIR CREDIT REPORTING ACT states that you can get a free credit report from each bureau once per year. The downside to annual credit report.com is that there are no scores. They do not protect you from identity theft and there is no protection. These are not a tri-merge report. Each bureau will report separately.
One that I personally love is identity IQ.com. You can try this program for one dollar for the first week, and if you do not cancel, you will be charged $32.99 per month. But the extraordinary upside is that they are protecting you from:
three bureau reports and FICO scores
Free bureau daily monitoring and alerts
dark Web and Internet monitoring
a one million-dollar identity theft insurance
You also get generic FICO 8 scores.
It is a trimerge report – all 3 bureaus are on 1 report.
Another one is located on the Experian website at www.Experian.com. In fact, you can try them out for a week and then be charged $24.95. Please go to their website for confirmation on this price. They also offer FICO eight scores. These are not a trimerge report. Each bureau will report separately.
Equifax.com and Trans Union.com also have credit monitoring, all for about the same price as Experian.
Again, these are not a trimerge report. Each bureau will report separately.
